Spiritual food pyramid....

After months, ok years, please don't judge me, I've decided to put on my work out clothes and my worn out puma sneakers, cuz they're the only pair of sneakers I own (cough cough, Christmas!) and get into shape.Well try to. And. Needless to say that on my first day of my boot camp work out sessions, I died. Not literally, but kinda-sorta-died. Inside. My body.
Dear cardio, you will be the death of me! Please be nice to me.

I guess you can say exercising is not, well, has NEVER been my forte. Although cutting weight has never been particularly an obsession of mine, however, I do admit to twitching a bit when I see a girl with a waist the size of a straw, I realize that exercising is well. Good. Even though it makes me cringe, it does the body good. It takes discipline, commitment and consistency to produce the results one wants. And while it is important to take the time and exercise our physical bodies and take care of them by making sure we provide them with good nutrition, our spiritual bodies should be given the same, or perhaps even a higher level of attention. Because, just as our physical bodies have a tendency to become weak, our Spirit is prone to become weak if it is not fed correctly and given the proper spiritual nutrition. For food addicts like myself, staying healthy means putting away the ever delicious brownies and minimizing my portions of enhilada plates with rice and beans and every other bomb food my mom makes. I'm Mexican. It's hard saying no to enchilada seconds. For our Spirit to be healthy, strong and in tip top condition, we must feed it nutritional meals and keep it away from the junk food, which may taste oober delish but is of no good benefit.

A Christian poet once said,  Feeding the Spirit is growing in grace, delighting in the word, delighting in prayer and fellowship with God.

So. When it comes to feeding your Spirit, what does your food pyramid look like? Keep it real.
